To the editor:
I was shocked to see this letter printed in the Gazette. What appears to be a letter written by an “informed” voter is really just a writeoff of the candidates this voter doesn’t like.
Although letters are meant to give readers the opportunity to give their opinions, they shouldn’t be a place to promote or demote any specific candidate. After reading each candidate’s platform I would advise voters to not rule out any candidate just yet. None of them are “joke candidates” — they all want to see change in the University Students’ Council and I would suggest all voters become informed and read each candidate’s platform thoroughly.
Regarding the Ceeps Bingo incident, I would suggest Mr. Lupavitch get his facts straight before pointing fingers at anyone. I too am a Bingo regular and saw a very different scene than what has been described.
No candidate should be ruled out because of what they do in their personal time. Emily Rowe is no stranger to Richmond Row, but this has never affected the way she does her job. I am confident none of the candidates this year would let that get in their way of being a good president either.
Western, don’t be fooled by anyone (running or not), become an informed voter and choose the best candidate for the position based on your own merits.

To the editor:
In his letter, Mr. Lupavitch would have us believe one cannot have a president who is both a great leader and an alcohol abuser. History tells a different story. What do Alexander the Great, John A. Macdonald and Winston Churchill have in common? They all drank like fish. Great leaders need not be sober.

Seth Climans is the man. I was actually just going to say that.
Can’t say I am overly impressed with any of this years candidates. However, I am impressed by these letters.
Damn right we ALL have the right to drink and be taken seriously. In fact I’ll take you more seriously.
