Yale University has upped its recruitment efforts by creating a YouTube video.
The video, called “That’s why I chose Yale” is a musical short that follows New York actor and recent Yale graduate, Kobi Libii, around Yale’s campus.
“The clip is meant to give prospective students an entertaining overview of undergraduate life at Yale,” Andrew Johnson, senior assistant director of admission at Yale, said.
The video highlights the school’s popular student destinations, including residences, campus recreation facilities and student lounges. It also explores each of the University’s faculties.
“Our hope is that students will want to further explore our other programs that are touched on briefly in the video,” Johnson added.
While it is common to assume a musical video would appeal to students looking to apply to arts programs, Andrew assured, “the video is meant to capture a cross-disciplinary student audience. Its purpose is to reflect the general energy that Yale students seem to feel.”
