Out of this worldLast week, the Canadians for Action on Climate Change gained the support of London city council.
Council signed a resolution urging the federal government of Canada to take action on climate change.
CACC is anticipating the participation of several other municipalities, but felt particularly affiliated with the London community.
“Our group is situated in London — that’s where our organization’s leadership exists,” Kevin Lomack, communications for CACC, said. “So we have a relationship with the council in London through many committees and initiatives we’ve been involved with.”
Lomack noted there were no objections from council when the motion was put forward.
“Important issues like climate change, which profoundly affect our lives and will certainly [affect] our childrens’, transcend party and ideological lines,” Nancy Branscombe, London city councillor, said in a press release.
“This is one place where we can all work together, unified, in a common purpose.”
