Its hard to be optimistic in a world where people SEEM to naturally be crooked and careless. To some degree, I can agree with your article and accept the reason for your frustration. However, we have the freedom to choose how we live our lives. We can either choose to go with the good or go with the bad. I regretably chose the selfish route until just a few years ago when I found extreme joy in doing good. I still struggle with selfishness, but it is clear to me that my heart and soul are far more at peace and alive when I focus and share the love and joy that I've experienced. Our world will never be a "perfect" place. However, life is a magnificent gift that we cant just ignore and waste. By waste, I mean just sitting through it and letting the bad be "okay". You are absolutely right about how greed has taken over, and has lead people with power and wealth to control, lie, steal and destroy our world. The interesting part is that EVERYONE on our planet is HUMAN. Including the ones who have been deceived to cheat, steal, lie, and live selfishly. As humans, we all have the same feelings and the same needs. We also come accross the same temptations and deceptions. We all KNOW right from wrong but we sometimes CHOOSE to ignore that fact for various reasons. It is true that you feel better about who you are when you genuinly make someone else happy. It is true that love conquers all fear and that life is a fantastic thing if lived well. People need to be reminded and given an opportunity to experience the wonderful feeling of genuin love. ONLY Humans are ruining our world. Only Humans can fix it. They just need help from other people like you and me to remind them and show them the power of love and friendship. Making that a life goal is far more fulfiling than going with the flow and being enslaved in it.
It will never get boring.
Thanks for writing this blog. Its important to point out the changes that need to be made.
If you have time, please read my blog and let me know what you think. Its pretty well the exact opposite of yours and I would love to hear how you feel about my view.
