To the editor:
In regards to the pending London Transit strike, where is Emily Rowe? As University Students’ Council president, it’s surprising that there has been no statement from her assuring us students the USC is fighting on our behalf to prevent a strike.
In fact, since her election and effective campaign video, I haven’t heard anything from Emily Rowe — my last impression of her was garbage left all over campus. As USC president she needs to come out and assure us that she is actually doing something to ensure that we aren’t left stranded on Nov. 16.
Emily Rowe, communicate to your students directly, not through Dan Moulton. And if you really “love your Western” — show us.

The reality of the situation is that nothing Emily Rowe does or says will change the minds of the union or lead to a speedier resolution of the strike.
Give the girl a break. This is university politics. Who the hell really cares? So she had a trip to Vegas planned (probably long ago) and decided to go. I don’t really care — like I said, she’s not going to be able to resolve the situation, so why begrudge her for going on her trip?
You people are being ridiculous. Direct your anger toward the union administrators.
I heard something recently which I thought Western students would like to know. It is an answer to a previous Letter to the Editor entitled, “Where in the world is Emily Rowe?”
The literal answer to this probably figuratively-posed question is: LAS VEGAS.
UWO students have a right to know that our USC president, Emily Rowe, was in Vegas partying while we were waiting to hear about her negotiations with the LTC regarding our daily commute to the campus she apparently needed a break from.
I really don’t think this was the best time for Emily Rowe to peace out and leave the students who count on her hanging out to dry. The LTC strike is a major issue for a lot of students. The opinions of thousands of UWO students is represented by one voice: that which we elected to be our president. But during a time in need, that voice could only be heard at Nevadan slot machines and maybe the occasional watering hole (and is she even 21?).
Lastly, I think it was her responsibility to let us know that she would absent from her duties for some time, so we aren’t left asking questions like, Where in the world is Emily Rowe? This is a typical responsibility of a president of any organization.
But who cares… leave it for Dan Moulton, right?
